| Skill Requirements |
| Education : Some high school.
|
| Credentials : Forklift Operator Certification.
|
| Experience : 1 - 2 years.
|
| Languages : French/English
|
| Work Setting : Warehouse, Cross-docking facility.
|
| Vehicle and Equipment Experience : Dollies and Hand trucks, Pallet
Lifters, Industrial lift trucks and forklifts.
|
| Weight handling : up to 23 kg. (50 lbs.)
|
| Specific skills : Load, unload and move products and materials by hand
or with basic material handling equipment. Operate a variety of forklifts to
load, unload and move materials, weigh materials and goods, sort goods, handle
dangerous goods and hazardous products. Palletize and shrink wrap goods on
pallets.
|
| Security and Safety : Criminal Record check (abstract), Medical Exam.
|
| Own tools/equipment : Steel-toed Safety footwear.
|
| Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities : Fast-paced environment,
physically demanding, Attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling.
|
| Work Site Environment : dusty, cold, refrigerated Public Transportation
is available.
|
| Essential skills : Reading text, Document use such as bills of lading,
stickers for special handling, etc.
|
|
|
| The client : Is a major LTL carrier in
Canada and requires a certified forklift worker. The shift is primarily days
and may lead to full time employment with chance to advance.
